Political Cartoon: “Free Market Enema for Shkreli” By Kaveh Adel Iranian American Cartoonist
Martin Shkreli, also known as “Pharma Bro”, made news a little while ago by buying the rights to a drug called Daraprim, an old drug used to treat toxoplasmosis in AIDS patients, and jacking the price by 5,000% to more than $750 a pill.
Well, Imprimis Pharmaceuticals of San Diego, said that it would make its own version of Daraprim available for just $1 a pill, cheaper than it was before.
Now, chances are that Shkreli will lose a bundle of money but he will still be sitting quite pretty after this blows over but the damage is done, if not to him financially at least to his reputation proving his utter and lack of, shall we say, humanity.
One could argue that the in”visible” hand of the free market has and will deliver an enema to what one should not waste time calling a human being!
To Understanding, care and compassion between all of us, someday!
