Leonardo da Vinci‘s Vitruvian man is a bit out of the proportion nowadays compared to De architectura described by Vitruvius .

In fact humanity’s proportions are way out of the social media norms.  Humanity is capable of so much more.  So much more creativity than what it is boxed in currently…..limited and out of touch,  for the most part.

I am,  most of all, affected by it so naturally I had to draw about it.  This cartoon is inspired by a conversation with my own mother and playwright, Ezzat Goushegir. (Ezzat’s Blog and Website)

I do admit, it was an enlightening discussion.  Me debating the advantages of technology and how social media has brought so many together, and her point of humanity’s alienation. Point well taken, Mom!  Yet, I still could not get this cartoon out without the help of social media!

To a happy medium.  Once in a while stopping and enjoying a deep conversation face to face, smelling the nauseating steam from a sewer, eating a perfectly cooked meal AND commenting on a cousin’s recited poetry thousands of miles away, seeing the face of a newborn and discussing finer points of cartooning with a friend in exile via social media!

To humanity and restoring the proportions!

Love and peace,

Kaveh
