By now we have seen and heard every variation of jokes, insults, commendations, jubilation, reservations and everything in between after the news about the call between President Obama and President Rouhani of Iran was made public.

A great gesture indeed. Backlashes from the opposite forces in wither country and beyond, expected. The hawks, the show throwers, the optimists and pessimists alike have had their say.

At the core of this, there is something very simple. The love for humanity.

Being an Iranian-Born immigrant who is a naturalized American citizen my perspective is bifurcated. I posted this line about my own feelings about this on my personal Facebook page (in Persian):

here is the loose translation:

“My “Iranian” humanity begins with a show(for throwing) and ends with swearing(at the them). My “American” humanity begins with labeling(others) and ends with bombing (them). My human humanity nods at these two and plant the words “humanity” under the soil that maybe, just maybe, in a hundred years it will find the capacity to bud.”

“From the dissonant mental explosions of Kaveh Adel”

To peace, love and humanity without boundaries of language, race and country.
