Political Cartoon: “Reality Poetry Zipper” by Iranian American Cartoonist Kaveh Adel
People die.
Those alive wonder why.
Some pray.
Some curse.
Some accept.
Some question.
Others recite poetry.
And they all fall victim to the reality zippe.
Imprisoned, silenced and erased from our minds.
Unless………
For the Victims of the Earthquake in Azarbaijan province of Iran Near Ahar and the Satirical poet Mohammad Reza Ali Payam (Haloo)
The poet is imprisoned for reciting four lines of poetry: (Pardon my Crude translation)
“Who says we are an indolent government?
Who is worried about the Arabic people.
stop saying that there is an Earthquake in Ahar.
Now we’re tangled with Damascus and Halab (Aleppo)”
