Political Cartoon “Sizdah Bedar for Barbed Wires سیزده بدر سیمهای خاردار by Iranian American Cartoonist and Artist Kaveh Adel

Political Cartoon "Sizdah Bedar for Barbed Wires سیزده بدر سیمهای خاردار " by Iranian American Cartoonist and Artist Kaveh Adel.
Sizdah bedar (سیزده بدر ) marks the 13th day in the New Persian(Iranian) new year.
It marks leaving one’s house to ward off the evil in the world by spending the day outside, reconnecting with friends, family, community.
The tradition of tying the green grass(Sabzeh سبزه) is symbolic of finding love in the new year for those unmarried but it is also a tradition to tie the loose ends in life and throwing the wilted grass into the water to wisked away by the pure water.
Many do not have that luxury–those who have not seen their families, loved ones for months, years and those who have perished in the hands of tyrants.
I always wondered how would barbed wires (سیمهای خاردار ) celebrate Sizdah Bedar?
